Who are we?

Hello, we're Dekalb County District Orff Ensemble, also known as Dynamix. Simply put, we are the future! Future scholars. Future leaders. Future world-class musicians and performing artists.

Live Performances

The White House? The High Museum? How about our own Atlanta Symphony Orchestra? The answer is- Yep, we have played'em all! And let's not forget America's Got Talent (check out the pics below). What's next? Little Big Shots? Coachella? Hmm.

Championship Pedigree

Some of the first Dynamix team members came from a three-time national champion music team at a Dekalb County elementary school! Talk about winning. Our team is built on putting in the hard work, giving masterful performances, and getting it done in competition.

Team Diversity

Dynamix team members are from all walks of life in regards to race, gender, nationality, and background — a true melting pot of some of the best Dekalb County has to offer. Don't take our word for it. Stop by and pop in on practice to get a sample of our flavor!

Breaking Da Rules

The Dynamix team is spearheading the Breaking da Rules anti-bullying campaign. The diversity of the Dynamix team provides and promotes a natural environment of tolerance where kids from different races and cultures collaborate creatively.

Breaking Da Rules — Anti-bullying campaign

Dynamix provides a diverse, tolerant environment. These kids sincerely believe that ending bullying begins with them.

The team filmed an acclaimed tolerance video to help bring more awareness to this important issue.

The team also created an audio CD to help spear-head the anti-bullying movement throughout Dekalb County.

Ms. Chelsea Cook
Music Director

CHELSEA COOK is a graduate of Clayton College and State University and Georgia State University and holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in vocal performance. Towards the end of her graduate studies, she discovered her passion for teaching and decided to go into elementary music education. Her “out of the box” arrangements have given her Orff ensembles a unique sound that has garnered much success, thus becoming one of Dekalb County’s premier elementary music programs.

Her award-winning “Dynamic Dolphins” have been the three-time national champions of the Music USA Festivals of Orlando, Florida and have also been featured on several events including the holiday tours at the White House, Dekalb County Board of Education’s State of the System of Address, the Congressional Art Competition hosted by Congressman Hank Johnson and the Sweet Auburn Music Festival.
